Metchosin Oasis
Off-grid luxury, Vancouver Island
BHD was called in to this project to renovate the bathroom and tie the finishes of the project together. This was a particularly interesting project as this home is high in the hills of Metchosin with no neighbours nearby. This property is west of Victoria in the Southern part of Vancouver island - it is also completely off-grid which made the electrical for this project more challenging.
Privacy was not an issue in this project so we were able to add a picture window into the shower. The forest makes for a stunning backdrop, almost like forest bathing! White shower tiles frame the main event letting it be centre stage. Tying in black fixtures, an oak vanity and a grey tile floor grounded the space without distracting from the view.
The client had a pendant light they were interested in using but didn’t know how or where. We added a cluster of 12 of these glass pendant lights to the front foyer which was a perfect juxtaposition to the rugged stone fireplace.
We changed out all the closet doors from the original mirror to slab doors routed out to look like paneled doors and did a slim profile trim and heavy black pulls to complete the look.
Updated lighting, paint, fan and door hardware updated this stunning getaway.
